Acne pimples can become a real nightmare and are never welcome on our skin. Faced with this, good products and accessories exist to reduce your acne. Guest in Bienfait pour vous, our beauty columnist Benjamin Lévêque gives some natural tips to fight against these pimples. Be careful, these tips will not cure your acne but will reduce it or fade it as much as possible. For these functions, contact a dermatologist.

Essential oils to fight acne naturally

First of all, acne is bacteria. The skin secretes excess sebum, which makes it oily and dead cells clog its pores. In this environment rich in fat, a bacterium usually present on the skin, the propionibacterium acnes, multiplies. This therefore leads to the appearance of acne. And to kill bacteria, nothing better than antibacterial remedies like essential oils.

They are antiseptic and some more than others: that of the tea tree, commonly called the “tea tree”. Originally from Australia, there are more eco-responsible alternatives such as rosemary essential oil, lemon or bay leaf.

To apply them, the gesture is simple. It is advisable not to apply them directly to the skin, the concentration is too high. For example, when washing the face in the shower, take a gel for this part of the body and put a drop of essential oil inside. Mix, apply, scrub and rinse. In addition, it is also possible to put a drop in a dab of your moisturizer and apply there.

Concerning the advice of application, it is necessary to apply these essential oils rather in the evening. “The molecules of these oils will react badly with the UV rays of the sun and therefore it can cause stains, even burns”, explains our beauty columnist, Benjamin Lévêque.

Light to reduce pimples

Small devices exist to improve the condition of your skin using LED light. To be applied to the face for a few minutes a day, the principle is based on the same as that of a dermatologist or an institute. “It’s not dangerous for the eyes, it’s not UV. Unless you have epilepsy, we are still avoided”, warns the beauty columnist at the microphone of Julia Vignali and Mélanie Gomez.

The energy of the light will act on the skin depending on the color. Some dermatologists will use it in addition to treatments like Dima Haidar. “The LED will accelerate healing and we now know that the faster healing takes place, the less risk it will leave traces. Which is super interesting not only for people who have severe acne, but that will also be interesting for people who have dull skin or skin that tends to stain easily”, explains the dermatologist.

This type of object can have a cost: count between 100 to 200 euros for a light in the shape of a pen and a little more for a full face mask. “The advantage with the little pen is that you can act on a single acne zone only on the cheeks or on the forehead for example. And so you can select”, says Benjamin Lévêque.

Grandma’s recipes

Less expensive alternatives exist to fight against acne such as hydrogen peroxide. Between two or three euros the bottle, it is necessary to apply the lotion with a cotton swab on a button for one minute, no more. The light antibacterial base will destroy acne bacteria. The pimple will dry out and go away much faster. It is necessary to go there moderately because tasks can appear in the event of abuse.

Last thing, you must avoid putting on layers of make-up to camouflage your imperfections. Cosmetics will clog the pores and accumulate even more sebum and therefore bacteria. “It’s fine for an evening, but you clean your face in the evening before going to bed,” advises Benjamin Lévêque.
