Chronic pain, from Siaarti a Manifesto against suffering

ROME – “Beyond Pain, Social Manifesto Against Suffering” is born: ten points, ten rights that can no longer be postponed to respond to the needs of citizens who have to deal with chronic pain every day. It is promoted by Siaarti, the Italian Society of Anesthesia Analgesia Resuscitation and Intensive Care, but the document has already been signed by 17 other associations and scientific societies (Aifi-Italian Association of Physiotherapy; Aisd-Italian Association for Pain Study, Aogoi-Obstetricians Gynecologists Ospedalieri, Cittadinanzattiva, Fondazione Onda, Italia Longeva, Senior Italia-Federanziani, Federdolore, Sid, Sige, Sigo, Sigot, Simfer, Simg, Sin, Sin-Reni, Siot).

The Manifesto was presented today as part of the XX Congress of the Cultural and Pain Area of ​​the Siaarti. “One million Italians today suffer from severe chronic pain and we cannot accept that the critical issues in the daily lives of these citizens are forgotten”, declared Antonino Giarratano, president of Siaarti, in a statement. “We have made our mission to be able to bring the contents of Law 38-2010 to completion”, adds Franco Marinangeli, coordinator of the Company’s pain area for the three-year period 2018-2021, who highlights how, 10 years after the approval of the reads, there are “innumerable problems to be solved”. “We have developed a document that sends strong messages from a political, social and organizational point of view”, explains Arturo Cuomo, member of the Siaarti Board who created the Manifesto.
