The body loses balance: 10 daily habits that harm you

The balance is crucial for maintaining activities, independence and quality of life, especially with age. Daily habits that we hardly pay attention can gradually undermine the ability to maintain balance.

Even the usual prolonged seat or improper posture can disrupt the stability of the body and increase the risk of falls. Coach Mike Masi explains to Eatthis.com, what actions are damaged by your balance daily – and how to avoid it.

The expert shared a list of ten daily habits that imperceptibly destroy your balance and reduce the quality of life.

1. To sit too much

A long -term seat has a negative effect on the work of the muscles of the cortex, reduces flexibility and causes rigidity in the body. The Mayo clinic warns that an excessive chair is associated with a higher risk of cardiovascular disease and even oncology.

“The fact of the seat is not harmful. The problem arises when you are in the sitting position for too long. This weakens the muscles responsible for the balance, in particular, in the lower legs and hips. If you work at the table, alternate to sit, stand on your knees and do not forget about regular walks, ”” ”.

2. Lack of regular physical activity

A sedentary lifestyle worsens the balance when the muscles weaken and the joints lose flexibility. One study showed that regular learning helps to improve your posture and, accordingly, body stability.

“Our body adapts to the load that we give. Equilibrium largely depends on the strength of the muscles. If they are not used, their atrophy occurs over time, which negatively affects stability, ”the mass notes.

3. Neglecting proper posture

Incorrect body position is able to shift the center of gravity, violate the balance and increase the risk of falls.

“If you often slip or lean forward, it changes your center of mass. It itself is not critical, but when this behavior becomes constant, the body begins to adapt, and it has a negative effect on your balance, ”the expert explains.

4. Wear uncomfortable shoes

An unsuccessful choice of shoes is another cause of balance disorders. Shoes without proper support or improper size reduces body resistance.

“High heels or uncomfortable shoes violate stability. Choose models with the support of the arches of the leg and convenient fitting. If you have a flat part, look for orthopedic insoles, ”the mass warns.

5. I ignore health signals

Violation of vision, problems with the inner ear or the refusal of the vestibular system can seriously affect the balance. Such conditions require the fastest diagnosis and treatment.

“Several systems – visual devices, vestibular apparatus and somatosensory system are influenced by balance.

6. Do not drink enough water

Dehydration can lead to a decrease in pressure and dizziness, which directly affects the ability to maintain balance.

“Water is the main component of our body. Its deficiency affects the volume of blood and blood pressure. When the pressure drops, dizziness may occur, and this is a problem for stability, ”the mass explains.

7. Excessive admiration for unhealthy food and alcohol

Overflow and abuse of alcohol not only harm health, but can also disrupt the cognitive functions responsible for coordination.

“The weight and constantly high blood sugar level from an unbalanced damage to the nervous system. This can lead to a decrease in the sensitivity of the legs. Body weight control is a critical aspect of preventing problems with equilibrium, ”the coach explains.

8. Missed dishes

Unregular nutrition or large breaks between meals can cause sharp changes in the blood sugar and cause energy failures.

“Hypoglycemia often causes dizziness, which is extremely dangerous in terms of risk loss. Avoid prolonged hunger, especially if you have a tendency to reduce pressure or low glucose pressure, ”says Masi.

9. I ignore the side effects of drugs

Some drugs can influence coordination of side effects, such as drowsiness or dizziness. The combination of drugs without a doctor’s control can be especially risky.

“The simultaneous administration of several drugs can either improve or weaken each other. Therefore, you should always consult a doctor when changing the treatment regimen, ”the mass advises.

10. Rely on AIDS

Reeds, walkers and other devices may be required, but their use is too frequent leads to the muscle weakness of the lower extremities.

“Abuse of auxiliary capabilities can lead to a gradual loss of ability to move without extraneous support. If you are forced to use such equipment, you should work with a physiotherapist to gradually restore muscle strength and reduce dependence, ”the expert warns.
