Robinhood brokerage had its Twitter account hacked this Wednesday (25). Criminals used it to spread a fake cryptocurrency under the guise of being pegged to the exchange.
The cryptocurrency was created on BNB Chain (Binance arm). Users on Twitter, famous for investigating Onchain activities, comment.
“Coup was financed through Binance”, says user, sharing the exact transaction link on the network.

Changpeng Zhao, CEO of Binance, responds to the comment, and says he is aware and that his team is already investigating.

“Our security team also noticed this and blocked the account pending further investigation,” it says.
Robinhood’s account removed the fake post just minutes after the criminal posted it, but his wallet already has more than $7,000 in USDC.
