Google Chief Executive Sundar Pichai said this week that the device’s partnership with Jio was to invest in local languages, in addition to English, so that many more Indians can use smartphones.
The smartphone’s price may, however, put it out of reach for a significant portion of low-end phone users, said Navkendar Singh of technology consultancy. IDC India.
