French President Emmanuel Macron said that France and Germany will continue to act as a mediator to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.

He stated this at a briefing after a meeting with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, who broadcasts the Ukraine 24 TV channel.

“Ukraine is ready”

“I discussed the implementation of the Minsk agreements with Putin yesterday – he also confirmed his intention to implement the Minsk agreements. And I also heard from you (Ukraine – ed.) today that you are also ready to implement these agreements for this,” he said.

According to Macron, this is the way to move towards a sustainable world.

“Let me remind you that in February 2015, after the signing of the Minsk agreements, heavy bloodshed stopped. We can say that the Minsk agreements act as an instrument for protecting sovereignty and territorial integrity. We must move further, although there are different discussions on the format – here it is necessary that all participants agreements have complied with their obligations,” he said.

He also noted that a meeting of political advisers would soon be held in Berlin, and expressed the hope that the process (implementation of the Minsk agreements – ed.) would move forward “regardless of the pressure on the borders of Ukraine.”

“In the context of security challenges, we need to return to some systems of guarantees. And I discussed these issues today with President Zelensky, yesterday I also discussed with President Putin … In the coming days, months, we need to do everything in our power so that, with the help of new security guarantee mechanisms have been able to achieve a significant de-escalation and increased security as a result,” Macron said.

“Difficult tasks”

At the same time, Emmanuel Macron said that all parties now face a very difficult task for the coming weeks:

“First, we must continue methodically and resolutely to reach the end of the implementation of the Minsk agreements.

Second. A broad dialogue on all security issues in an innovative way, which would create for all of us a new security-defense order, which in turn would satisfy everyone on the continent.”

Threat from Russia

Russia has amassed more than 100,000 troops near the border with Ukraine. On January 12, an interactive map was made public, showing all the data on the accumulation of Russian troops on the border with Ukraine. At the same time, experts predict that the escalation of the situation in Ukraine may occur in February, approximately in the 20th.

CNN learned how Russia will start hostilities in Ukraine. According to them, the troops will enter under a false flag.

Recall that French President Emmanuel Macron came to meet with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky at the Mariinsky Palace. Macron’s reception was not quite standard – we wrote how it was.

On January 31, Sky News reported that if Russia decides to invade Ukraine and take the shortest route to the capital, it will pass through the Chernobyl exclusion zone. In turn, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said that Russia plans to replace political power in Ukraine.
