(ANSA) – CASTROLIBERO, 09 FEB – The carabinieri went to the scientific high school of the “Valentini-Majorana” school complex in Castrolibero and, as delegated by the Public Prosecutor of Cosenza, acquired a series of useful documents to investigate alleged sexual harassment suffered by a student by a professor at the institute. The girl, in recent days, had filed a complaint with the carabinieri to report what she had happened to her, but the Prosecutor of Cosenza had already started a fact-finding investigation.

Meanwhile, the director of the school complex, Iolanda Maletta, the scientific high school of which the students have been occupied for a few days, allowing, however, access to the institute for professors and administrative and auxiliary staff, wrote to the parents of the children that they are carrying out the occupation in protest against the failure to adopt measures against the teacher who would be responsible for the harassment. The manager, in the letter to her parents, writes that “no disciplinary procedure will be adopted against the demonstrators. While sharing the protest and having carried out all the procedures to clarify the alleged facts narrated – says the manager in the letter – it is necessary to continue the continuity of the study and the development of the educational process of all “.

At the moment, moreover, the inspectors appointed by the Minister of Education, Patrizio Bianchi, to carry out the checks in the high school have not yet arrived in Castrolibero. The Ministry has made it known that the administrative issues related to the dispatch of inspectors have been closed, and at this point they should arrive as soon as possible. “We are doing everything as soon as possible”, the Dicastery also specified, adding that “the Minister is very keen to clarify the matter”.
