Covid: ‘the commissioner offended’, rebellious pub owner in judgment

(ANSA) – BOLOGNA, 16 FEB – The owner of the Halloween Pub in Bologna, Mattia Florulli, was sued by the Prosecutor for aggravated defamation against the commissioner Gianfranco Bernabei, who in the meantime became prefect in Trento.

The accusation is of having publicly offended its reputation during a demonstration against the anti Covid restrictions, on May 22, 2021 in Piazza Nettuno. The premises in via Stalingrado at the beginning of the year had been seized for repeated violations of the containment rules of the pandemic. In Florulli, defended by the lawyers Lorenza Chiodini and Mauro Sandri, the prosecutor Antonello Gustapane disputes the expressions made during a speech from the stage of the protest in May, called ‘Primum non harmful rights and freedoms’ in which a few hundred people participated. The commissioner is assisted by the lawyer Chiara Rinaldi.

Florulli would have said, among other things: “And for this very reason we did not listen to the commissioner who told us with our hands, let’s grit our teeth, eat a little white rice … white rice you you eat it “, words followed by an insult. The investigations were made by Digos. The trial is set for February 2023. (ANSA).
