(ANSA) – NAPLES, 21 FEB – Eleven votive shrines believed to be attributable to people linked to the Camorra cartel known as the “Secondigliano Alliance” were seized by the Carabinieri of the Investigative Unit of the Provincial Command of Naples, the Cultural Heritage Protection Unit and the Municipal Police of Naples in the districts of Vasto-Arenaccia and San Carlo Arena.
The investigations, coordinated by the deputy prosecutor Alessandra Converso and the Naples prosecutor Giovanni Melillo, started after the seizure of three sacred statues of the ‘600 (previously located in the disused church “Santissima Maria del Rosario” in via San Giovanni e Paolo of this capital ) deemed to be available to the Mallardo-Bosti-Contini mafia families. The newsstands, set up for the celebration of criminal figures and also created by illegally occupying public land, were entrusted to the Municipality of Naples, also in order to allow the adoption of the consequent administrative measures.
