(ANSA) – FLORENCE, 15 MAR – From 1 April – with the exception of hospitals, nursing homes, nursery schools and nursery schools – some municipalities in the metropolitan city of Florence will turn off the heating systems in their territories, with an advance therefore 15 days with respect to the allowed times. This was announced by the metropolitan mayor Dario Nardella, on the sidelines of the Upi congress assembly in Palazzo Medici Riccardi. The decision was made to cope with the expensive energy.
The provision will be adopted by the municipalities of the urban agglomeration (Florence, Bagno a Ripoli, Calenzano, Sesto, Campi, Scandicci, Signa and Lastra a Signa), and also by Montelupo, Cerreto Guidi, Certaldo, Montespertoli, Pontassieve and Impruneta.
“Immediate public initiatives must be implemented – explained the mayor – that integrate with the individual behaviors that all citizens can independently implement, in order to reduce the consumption of energy from non-renewable sources”.
