(ANSA) – REGGIO CALABRIA, MARCH 26 – Four quintals of untraceable Easter eggs were seized by the Nas carabinieri in an illegal pastry shop discovered in the Ionian area of the province of Reggio Calabria.
The owner of the business was subjected to high penalties of 7 thousand euros.
The military, as part of checks launched on the production chain of food and confectionery products most sold during the Easter holidays, identified the structure where the production of chocolate eggs was in progress.
In particular, the inspection by the specialists of the weapon made it possible to ascertain serious hygienic, sanitary and structural deficiencies, with dirty rooms and equipment, as well as the impossibility of tracing the origin of the ingredients used because they do not have a label or documents on the origin, seizing 460 pieces for about four hundred kilograms of product.
The staff of the Prevention Department of the Provincial Health Authority of Reggo Calabria, intervened in support of the carabinieri, ordered the immediate suspension of the laboratory. (HANDLE).
