(ANSA) – VICENZA, MARCH 28 – A fire has been hitting a vast wooded area of the Asiago plateau (Vicenza) this morning, in the municipality of Foza, in the Tommasini district. The alarm was raised by some passers-by around 10am. Numerous fire brigade teams from Asiago, Vicenza and Thiene are working on the spot, as well as civil protection volunteers. The area is very inaccessible to reach, so the intervention of aircrafts was requested to launch water from above. The stake could be malicious. Investigations underway by the firefighters themselves and the carabinieri of Asiago: the malicious act is considered probable due to the presence of at least 3-4 different outbreaks, spaced a few hundred meters apart.
In order to allow for the extinguishing operations and for safety reasons, the regional road connecting Gallio with Foza was closed to traffic. (HANDLE).
