A 70-year-old married couple was hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the San Gavino Monreale hospital, in Southern Sardinia, for intoxication. Their conditions are serious and we await the arrival of the antidote that will come from the Peninsula, given that the only dose in Sardinia was used for women.
The incident took place yesterday. The neighbor gave some freshly picked beets to the neighbors, without realizing that among the leaves there were also those of mandrake. The two 70-year-olds ate chard and soon felt ill. It was the spouses themselves and the neighbor who called 118. The carabinieri from Villacidro also arrived and heard the neighbor.
