Naples guerrilla: investigations closed, FN leaders among 46 suspects

(ANSA) – NAPLES, 08 APR – The Naples Public Prosecutor’s Office has closed the investigation, against 46 people, concerning the violent anti-lockdown clashes that took place at the end of October 2020 in Naples near the headquarters of the Campania Regional Council, in which they took part , according to what emerged from the investigations, ultras, traders, extremist fringes and people considered legal to crime, including organized crime.

The pool of magistrates set up by the prosecutor Giovanni Melillo and composed of the deputy prosecutors Celeste Carrano, Luciano D’Angelo, Danilo De Simone and Antonello Ardituro, has delegated to the police the notification of the notices of conclusion of the investigations, among others, to Roberto Fiore, leader of Forza Nuova, investigated together with other exponents of the same movement such as the provincial manager Nicola Trisciuoglio and the regional coordinator Ciro Andretti, in the role of instigators and promoters of the clashes “through a public appeal widespread on social media, praising the health uprising and hoping that ‘Naples is the first spark of the revolution’ “.

From this investigative activity another investigative trend has emerged, merged into that of the clashes, relating to the alleged offenses for the construction of a statue dedicated to Diego Armando Maradona. In this vein, the former municipal councilors of Naples Eleonora De Majo, Giovanni Pagano and Ciro Borriello and the former councilor of the third municipality Egidio Giordano are among the suspects.
