(ANSA) – RIMINI, APRIL 13 – 450 thousand people are expected at the 93rd National Alpine Meeting Rimini-San Marino scheduled from 5 to 8 May. The occasion will allow to celebrate for the first time the hundred years of the first national gathering, an anniversary that it was not possible to celebrate in 2020 due to the pandemic, and not even in 2021. The event, postponed to May 2022, makes the gathering coincide even with the 150th anniversary of the establishment of the Alpine Corps.

The numerous estimated presences allow Rimini to have an anticipation of summer from a tourist point of view with hotels open (95% of the total according to Visit Rimini) close to sold out. “The inconvenience of tourist events is life for us,” Mayor Jamil Sadegholvaad said at a press conference.

Highlight of the event on Sunday 8 May with the participation in the final parade of about 80 thousand Alpini divided into 110 sections. The passage of the parade will last 10-12 hours. The president of the National Alpine Association Sebastiano Favero said that “the peaceful invasion of the black feathers is an embrace to the host city, respecting and enjoying its characteristics”. “In Rimini and San Marino – he added – we are sure that these aspects will be even more accentuated by the traditional predisposition to welcome the people of Romagna”.
