(ANSA) – TORTONA (ALESSANDRIA), 13 APR – To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the birth of Don Lugi Orione, a special postage stamp and postmark will be issued. This was announced today by the Orionina Family. A joint Vatican issue with Italy, Argentina – considered by Don Orione, proclaimed a saint in 2004, to be his second homeland – and the Sovereign Military Order of Malta. The image is a painting by the Spanish painter Raul Berzosa in which the birth and charisma of the Founder of the Work are represented through symbols.
The stamp will be issued on 16 May 2022, the feast day of San Luigi Orione, born in Pontecurone (Alessandria); until the next day, the Vatican post office ‘Arco delle Campane’ will use the special cancellation. (HANDLE).
