Tax: Gdf seizes 4 million from Beretta cured meats company

(ANSA) – MILAN, APRIL 13 – The Gdf of Lecco has carried out a seizure of 4 million euros against the well-known cured meats company Fratelli Beretta spa in an investigation for tax fraud by the Milan prosecutor Paolo Storari who ascertained an alleged use of so-called “labor reservoirs”.

In practice, the company, from 2015 onwards, would have outsourced the work using cooperatives that did not pay social security contributions and other taxes. This mechanism would have served the company to circumvent the tax authorities, not paying VAT, and which is similar to that which has already emerged in other investigations by the Prosecutor Storari, such as the one on the Cegalin-Hotelvolver group, which deals with cleaning services in hotels, and on DHL Supply Chain Italy spa, a company of the logistics giant.

In the new Milan investigation, the CEO of the Vittore Beretta group and also the company for the law on the administrative liability of entities are being investigated as legal representative. The provision, signed by the investigating judge Tommaso Perna, also concerns a seizure of 9 million euros against the cooperatives involved. (HANDLE).
