(ANSA) – CALTANISSETTA, APRIL 14 – First fast food at one euro against poverty. The Open Food project started in Caltanissetta, a social innovation initiative that is committed to reducing food waste and eliminating the social divide with citizens who suffer from economic hardship. An initiative that will be put into practice by Equo Food, with an “inclusive fast food” opened in via Michele Amari 13 in Caltanissetta. It will be possible to buy every day, except Mondays, from 12 to 14, exclusively with take-away service, each portion of food at the symbolic cost of 1 euro. 150 meals will be served including first and second courses, high quality side dishes, guaranteed by the supporters of the project. It is also possible to donate a further contribution either directly on site or through the gift card distributed in the same room, where, by framing the QR code, it will be possible to donate by bank transfer or through PayPal.
Promoted by the Region of Sicily, the Italian Red Cross – Committee of Caltanissetta, the Etnos Social Cooperative, Un Posto Tranquillo Impresa Sociale Srl, Ipab – Istituto Testasecca, Coldiretti Caltanissetta, with the support of the Municipality of Caltanissetta, Open Food was created with the aim of reducing the social and economic gap between people significantly.
