The public prosecutor Domenico Chiaro, in writing off the positions of Rfi and Alstom Ferroviaria in relation to the Livraga railway accident of 6 February 2020, accepted, following the investigations, the defensive thesis based on the recent orientation of the Supreme Court according to which In the case of railway accidents, it is always necessary to distinguish violations of the accident prevention regulations from those of the regulations for the protection of transport safety. As for the suspects for which the indictment was requested, the Prosecutor explained that the crimes for which the request was forwarded – culpable train accident, double manslaughter and multiple culpable injuries -, they are the result of accusatory perspectives whose validity will be considered definitively ascertained only at the outcome of the judicial verifications.
