Easter: Nas checks on food in Abruzzo, shortages and penalties

(ANSA) – PESCARA, APRIL 15 – The Carabinieri of the Nas of Pescara are conducting numerous inspections in the catering sector to guarantee Abruzzo’s safe food near the Easter banquets. In the last week, checks on 19 businesses, including restaurants and pastry shops in the provinces of Teramo, Pescara and Chieti, have revealed numerous health and hygiene deficiencies and in terms of self-control.

Four and a half quintals of fish products contained in two freezers, totally devoid of useful information for their traceability, were found in a restaurant on the Teramo coast: the Nas, in concert with the ASL staff, ordered the food block; fines of 3,000 euros for violations of the hygiene package.

The penalties imposed during the 19 checks totaled approximately 15 thousand euros. Food safety and health protection will be at the center of the checks that the NAS will continue to conduct during the holidays, especially on Easter and Easter Monday. (HANDLE).
