(ANSA) – PAVIA, APRIL 22 – The Guardia di Finanza of Pavia has discovered an illicit sale of counterfeit clothing from some of the most important fashion brands.
The manager of the business, a woman residing in the province of Pavia, was reported for the sale of industrial products with misleading signs.
In addition, more than 80 buyers were sanctioned throughout Italy, who in the course of a year bought about 150 counterfeit products of the well-known brands: an administrative violation was charged against them, with the application of a penalty of 200 euros for each single purchase, for a total of more than 40 thousand euros.
During the operation, the Pavia financiers recovered from the buyers and seized various products with counterfeit brands, which had already been delivered, for a value of 35 thousand euros.
From the investigation it emerged that the woman reported used the Instagram platform, through which she offered on some profiles a vast sample of products with counterfeit brands, including shoes, clothing, bags and other accessories, at much lower prices than originals. The collection of the goods took place in a home or in a bar, or on an itinerant basis in the province of Pavia. The Guardia di Finanza reconstructed the illicit sales after making a forensic copy of the woman’s smartphone. Payments were made by reloading a prepaid card in the name of the grandmother of the person in charge of the activity, in an attempt to make it more difficult to reconstruct illegal trafficking. In order to build customer loyalty, the woman practiced discounts and she created special promotional campaigns.
