(ANSA) – ROTA GRECA, APRIL 23 – Fear but no harm to people in Rota Greca, in the province of Cosenza, after a bus of the Ferrovie della Calabria, for reasons under investigation, caught fire while it was in transit along the provincial road near the town.
The driver, the only person on board at the time, noticed the flames emanating from the engine compartment and immediately approached the bus in a lay-by, trying as possible to carry out a first shutdown intervention.
The fire, however, had already spread inside the vehicle which was completely enveloped and destroyed. Fire brigade teams from the Cosenza command, Rende detachment, intervened on the spot with the support of a tanker. The work of the brigade resulted in the complete extinguishing of the flames and the safety of the site. The carabinieri were also on site. (HANDLE).
