(ANSA) – RAVENNA, APRIL 24 – Two young Romanian citizens recently arrived in Italy, were arrested on Friday afternoon by the Guardia di Finanza at the gates of the center of Ravenna with over 20 kilos of cocaine for an estimated market value of more than one million euros. The two, as reported by the local edition of ‘il Resto del Carlino’, were checked around 5.30 pm on board a van.

Shortly afterwards, even with the help of a canine unit, the military found twenty sticks of drugs weighing about a kilo each in a double bottom. Almost 11,000 euros in cash, credit cards and some mobile phones were also seized. The two Romanians, after their arrest has been validated, are now in custody in prison in Bologna.

Also on Friday in Ravenna the Police, this time in the morning, arrested a 27-year-old Albanian with three and a half pounds of marijuana at home: the home search of the Mobile team was taken in the context of the young man’s notification of a European arrest warrant from Belgium for narcotics.
