(ANSA) – PALERMO, APRIL 25 – “On April 25, as every year, confirms the act of homage and gratitude towards those who lost their lives for the affirmation of that republican Constitution and those rights that are currently violated in various parts of the world. My thoughts go in particular to the Ukrainian people who suffer the military aggression of Russia, aggravated by real war crimes, and who try to send a message to the world in defense of the right to life and right to peace “. This was stated by Mayor Leoluca Orlando who this morning attended the ceremony that took place at the English Garden on the occasion of the Liberation Day from Nazi-Fascism and the procession that marched along via Libertà to the Teatro Massimo.

“Wars kill not only in Europe – added Orlando – but also in other parts of the world, let’s remember when so many migrants flee Africa and Asia. I say this by expressing great solidarity with the Ukrainian people, a solidarity that the city of Palermo is demonstrating by welcoming the Ukrainians.

Being numerous here, as never before, is the confirmation that the people of Palermo are tied to the fundamental principles of the right to peace and the right to life “. (ANSA).
