(ANSA) – BARI, MAY 06 – The parade for LGBTQIA + rights returns to Bari after three years. “On 2 July we return to the streets for rights” say the organizers of Bari Pride, launching a fundraiser on produzionidalbasso.it. “We want to go back to the streets with a real march after two very difficult years, in which we have experienced first-hand what it means not to be able to get together, not to be able to share one’s happiness and worries with people who have the same experiences as us – they declare. spokespersons Asia Iurlo and Leoluca Armigero -. The sinking of the Zan Bill made us reflect on how there is still a political power that claims to be able to keep us on the sidelines, still weak, still without rights “.

Due to the pandemic, the parade did not march through the streets of the city for two years. The last parade took place in 2019, then in 2020 there was a static demonstration in the square and last year an event, always static, in a city garden.

To carry out the 2022 parade, the organizers are also asking for financial help. “In other cities of Italy, with large and highly visible Prides – they explain -, large multinational companies that use civil commitment only for marketing but then do not do justice, for example, in the treatment of their employees, to cover the costs of the parade , especially in the poorest countries. This is why we did not want to accept the funding of those who believe we are directly responsible for the exploitation of people and the planet. Bari Pride belongs to everyone: we believe that those who impoverish the territories, in Puglia or in the rest of the World, cannot truly support the cause for the dignity of each oneə “. (HANDLE).
