(ANSA) – FLORENCE, 07 MAY – Seismic swarm after 6 pm near Florence with tremors that had their epicenter in the same area between Impruneta and San Casciano Val di Pesa, south of the city. The strongest quake recorded at 18.13 by the Engv instruments at a depth of 7 km is of magnitude 2.0. Other minor and subsequent tremors occurred in sequence: magnitude 1.6 at 18.36, 1.2 at 18.40, 1.5 at 18.51 and 1.8 at 18.52, all at a depth of 7 km except the fourth.
The earthquakes were felt by the inhabitants of the area, the same where there were the epicenters of the 3.7 and 3.5 earthquakes in the afternoon and evening of May 3. The epicenters are located in the municipality of San Casciano Val di Pesa, between the town of Mercatale and the Greve river in a wooded area with few rural buildings. (HANDLE).
