(ANSA) – CROTONE, 07 MAY – New landing of migrants in Calabria. This morning 70 arrived in “Capo Colonna” in Crotone. They were on a 15-meter sailboat that ran aground on the shoreline. Among them women and children. None of the migrants reported any consequences.

The migrants were rescued by the firefighters of the Provincial Command of Crotone, who also secured the vessel.

The personnel of the Coast Guard, the State Police, the Financial Police and the Red Cross are also on site.

Just yesterday, in Siderno, in Locride, another 110 migrants arrived, also on a sailing boat. Two people, part of the group that was on board the boat, were found lifeless.

According to what has been hypothesized by the Police, the two dead were the smugglers of the landing, who jumped into the sea, which at that moment was very rough, in an attempt to reach the shore and get away before the arrival of the rescuers. (HANDLE).
