(ANSA) – LA SPEZIA, MAY 19 – Anonymous business cards that simply bear the names of women – Annabella, Delfina, Irene, Arianna, Marzia, Vittoria and Itala – but each of them is associated with the telephone number of an anti-violence center , to which abused women can turn for help.
It is the idea of a group of students from the “Vincenzo Cardarelli” artistic high school in La Spezia, who managed a communication campaign to sensitize the population to the phenomenon of gender-based violence. The winners of the project were Marco Livolsi and Angelica Pisculli of 5B, who created a series of posters, which will be posted inside the doctors’ offices and pharmacies in the city, as well as flyers and business cards.
The latter do not report the name of the associations but, generically, female proper names so as not to be intercepted by the mistreating men. The material is in six languages: Italian, Spanish, French, English, Bengali and Arabic. “This project has matured in us a sense of belonging to the community and closeness to the weakest groups.
We did not want to further mortify the figure of the woman, so we chose images that were of impact, but also suggested the idea of revenge against the violence itself “said the two high school students.
Today the HELP project was awarded today by the prefect Maria Luisa Inversini. “We often talk about doing civic education in schools – said the head teacher Sara Cecchini -. The 5D class of the same artistic institute has instead created a documentary interviewing men, convicted of mistreatment and inmates at the La Spezia prison, and women who come from a history of mistreatment and redemption. The 40-minute film “The Path of Violence” will be screened on public occasions in the coming months. “This work has guaranteed them an education that they will never forget,” said magistrate Maria Cristina Failla who followed the students along their path.
