(ANSA) – OLBIA, MAY 23 – A sudden blackout on the Moby Drea ferry, traveling from Olbia to Genoa in the night between Saturday and Sunday, due to fuel pollution, has given the 558 passengers on board moments of apprehension .

The ship – as reported by the newspaper La Nuova Sardegna – stopped off Aleria, facing the west coast of Corsica, and then proceeded slowly towards Genoa, where it arrived yesterday at 12.

“Due to the pollution of the fuel with water – explained by the shipping company to ANSA – for safety reasons the main generator was disconnected and the emergency generator started working”.

The blackout, in the middle of the night, frightened the passengers, some of whom – as told by La Nuova Sardegna – poured into the dark corridors of the ship with the LEDs of the mobile phones on to illuminate the path in search of a way out. .

An uneasiness that lasted three and a half hours. “I was dozing – says a passenger – at a certain point I realized that everything was off and that the ship was stopped. For a moment I thought: we have arrived. I looked at the clock: it was just after one o’clock. morning. Like my cabin neighbors and all the others, I immediately sensed that something had happened. Once it arrived in the port of Genoa and the cause of what happened was ascertained – the company explains again – all the checks were made and the Moby Drea left for Olbia at around 8 pm. (ANSA).
