(ANSA) – TRIESTE, 23 MAY – The physics and mathematics areas of SISSA have been included among the 350 departments belonging to 58 Italian state universities that can compete for the selection of the future 180 departments of excellence for the period 2023-2027. In the ranking recently published by the MUR, both areas were ranked with the maximum score, defined by the Departmental Standardized Performance Indicator (ISPD) calculated by the National Agency for the Evaluation of the University and Research System (ANVUR).
Andrea Romanino, Director of SISSA, spoke of “a very flattering result. We are very pleased that both areas were admitted to the selection process and that this took place with maximum points. It could not have been better than this: the third area of the Unfortunately, SISSA could not compete due to its small size. The areas are already working on drafting the projects “.
The proposals must be sent by 16 September 2022, while the list of departments that will be awarded the funding will be published by 31 December 2022.
