Extortion of ‘baby gang’ in Lucca, 4 minors reported

(ANSA) – LUCCA, MAY 28 – The members of a baby gang operating in the historic center of Lucca denounced by the carabinieri.

There are four boys from Lucca, between 14 and 16 years old, referred to the juvenile prosecutor’s office for threats, attempted robbery and extortion against slightly younger boys, between 13 and 14 years.

The aim of the attacks was to take their money away. The investigations of the Weapon have reconstructed episodes that took place in April and May, when the gang allegedly obtained sums of money with threats and beatings. In an attack, on 23 April in Piazza Napoleone, the four would have surrounded a 14-year-old and after having blocked him, threatening him and hitting him with slaps, they would have forced him to deliver 130 euros. Another fact dates back to May 14 when the group allegedly forced a 13-year-old and a 14-year-old to hand over the little change they had with them. The carabinieri explained that they believe that other minors are involved in the group of perpetrators and that there are other unreported incidents. Investigations continue. (HANDLE).
