(ANSA) – AOSTA, MAY 31 – The Aosta Valley student Giulia Pession is the new world champion of Philosophy. She is a student of the third B of the classical, musical and artistic high school in Aosta, she won the title in Lisbon overcoming other 87 finalists from 42 countries. A special mention was given to Giovanni d’Antonio of the classical and scientific high school Torricelli of Somma Vesuviana.

“The proof – says Giulia Pession – featured four tracks: a fragment of Heraclitus, a passage by Kant from the Critique of Judgment, another by Hannah Arendt from The Banality of Evil and a quote from the Chinese philosopher Laozi.” Giulia Pession chose Eraclito: “I argued on this topic by explaining that in my opinion there is no common logos and therefore everyone develops their own ideas. It was also very interesting to see how, starting from the same track, each participant argued in a way very different and discussing different cultural conditions. I didn’t expect it would go so well, I was already very happy to have been able to participate in the final “.

“Philosophy – he concludes – is very useful for developing one’s own thought. It is also necessary to reason on the fact that science would never have arisen without philosophical questions, Philosophy is absolutely not oxymoronic with respect to science, on the contrary it continues to be a fundamental point of comparison for science itself. I want to continue studying Philosophy, especially Political and Ethical Philosophy. I will do it in London. “
