(ANSA) – ROME, MAY 31 – “Together with Defense of Peace”. This is the theme of the traditional parade which – after two years of suspension due to Covid – will return to animate via dei Fori Imperiali, on 2 June, Republic Day, which celebrates its 76th year. 5 thousand people, including military and civilian personnel and armed and unarmed bodies of the state, will participate, informs the Ministry of Defense. There will be 80 Flags and Banners, 15 Military Bands and Fanfare, about 170 horses. In addition to the overflight of the National Aerobatic Team, the passage of 22 helicopters and heavy vehicles is also expected.
The event was opened by a representative of mayors wearing the tricolor band followed by civilian health personnel with – new this year – the passage of a 118 helicopter, symbolizing all those who have been involved in the front line against the pandemic.
The day will begin with the solemn raising of the flag at the Altare della Patria and the homage to the Unknown Soldier by the President of the Republic who will subsequently review the wards along Viale delle Terme di Caracalla. (HANDLE).
