(ANSA) – NAPLES, 03 JUN – He forced his 12-year-old son to join him during the robberies and when the boy rebelled, threats and beatings flew: a 45-year-old man was arrested in the province of Naples by the Carabinieri of Casoria and Crispano on charges of aggravated robbery, illegal possession and carrying of weapons, receiving stolen goods and mistreatment in the family.
The Naples North Public Prosecutor’s Office, which requested and obtained the precautionary measure from the investigating judge, believes the man to be the author of seven robberies all carried out last January in the Neapolitan area, between Crispano, Cardito and Afragola.
The serial robber, who always went into action with a cut-off shotgun and a knife – was recognized by the owners of the shops targeted by the arrested. The presence of the boy who appears in the images of the video surveillance systems attached to the documents underlying the request for the precautionary measure was obviously decisive for identifying him.
The rifle, found stolen in May 2019, was found on January 29 in the man’s availability during a search. The weapon was found in Afragola, near the 45-year-old’s home during a “wide-ranging” operation that also allowed the seizure of two dangerous bombs, one of which was similar to the one used for the terrorist attack in Lyon in 2019.
