(ANSA) – MILAN, 05 JUN – An elderly man, 85, killed the 43-year-old son of his caregiver tonight with a shot from a hunting rifle. The murder took place in Gambolò (Pavia), in Lomellina a few kilometers from Vigevano (Pavia).

The 85-year-old, who had been ill for some time and forced to move around in a wheelchair, regularly held the weapon he fired with. The reasons for the gesture are not known at the moment: from the first investigations, it seems however that to push the pensioner to explode the blow against the victim, an Italian, were minor reasons.

The alarm was raised by the Italian caregiver of the elderly desperate after seeing his son collapse on the floor of the apartment after being hit by the blow. Rescuers immediately rushed to the scene, together with the carabinieri. There was nothing more to be done now. The 43-year-old died instantly. The carabinieri immediately started investigations to reconstruct the fact and better understand the reasons that prompted the elderly to take up his rifle and shoot at the son of the caregiver who assists him.

The investigation is coordinated by the Pavia Public Prosecutor’s Office. (HANDLE).
