(ANSA) – VATICAN CITY, JUN 14 – The Pope returns to talk about the war in Ukraine and indicates the presence of a “superpower” that wants to impose his will. “The war in Ukraine has come to add to the regional wars which in recent years have been reaping death and destruction. But here the picture is more complex due to the direct intervention of a ‘superpower’ – underlines the Pope in the Message for the Day of the Poor which will be celebrated on November 13 -, which intends to impose its will against the principle of self-determination of peoples. Scenes of tragic memory are repeated and once again the mutual blackmail of some powerful covers the voice of humanity that invokes peace ” .

In his message, the Pope also underlines the need to guarantee workers a fair wage and working hours.

“When the only law becomes the calculation of earnings at the end of the day, then there is no longer any restraint in adopting the logic of exploiting people: the others are only means.

There are no longer just wages, right working hours, and new forms of slavery are created – the Pontiff writes -, suffered by people who have no alternative and must accept this poisonous injustice in order to scrape together the minimum for sustenance “. (ANSA).
