‘Mario’ died, first medically assisted suicide in Italy

(ANSA) – ANCONA, 16 JUN – At 11.05 today ‘Mario’ died, whose true identity, which has remained hidden until now, is Federico Carboni. To communicate the death of the 44-year-old quadriplegic from Senigallia (Ancona) who had obtained the green light for medically assisted suicide, a procedure that took place today for the first time in Italy, was the Luca Coscioni Association who also supported him in the legal battle following the sentence of the Constitutional Court on the Cappato / djFabo affair and which raised funds for the necessary equipment.

The procedure took place in Federico’s house, with his family, friends at his side, as well as Marco Cappato, Filomena Gallo and a part of the legal board; the lethal drug was self-administered through a special machine, costing about 5 thousand euros, entirely borne by him, and for which the Luca Coscioni Association had launched a fundraiser “.
