(ANSA) – LANUSEI, June 17 – They would have cut trees, destroyed vegetation, excavated land and damaged a pond subject to restrictions without having any authorization, all to build a lot of the new state road 125 Tortolì-Tertenia, in Ogliastra. This is what was discovered by the Carabinieri of the Tortolì Station and of the Company of Lanusei, together with colleagues from the Company of Jerzu, of the Ecological Operating Unit, of the Heritage Protection Unit, together with the soldiers of the Yellow Flames of Tortolì-Arbatax and with the staff of the Agency regional for environmental protection during a maxi inspection at the entire construction site and in the companies entrusted with the work.
The blitz was triggered following an inspection, search and seizure order issued by the Lanusei Public Prosecutor’s Office which coordinates an investigation that currently sees 4 people under investigation and a company as a legal person. Charges range from environmental violations related to unauthorized work to environmental pollution, fraud in public supplies and unauthorized waste management activities.
The removed soil, consisting of waste material from the dredging of the pond, according to what was ascertained by the military of the Arma, was transported to two sites and subsequently placed in the concrete production cycle, “which probably has low mechanical resistance – explain the carabinieri – it was supplied and used at the construction site for the completion and construction works of the new state road 125, lot 4, section 2, Tertenia-Tortolì section “. During the inspection, samples of various land were taken and computer equipment and documents were seized.
