The intestine is thin. Why the invasion of Ukraine from Belarus is out of the question

Lukashenka’s army is too small to compete with the Armed Forces of Ukraine without Russia’s help

It makes no sense for Belarus to fight with Ukraine, since its army is much smaller than ours and will not be able to promptly use troops to cross the border with Ukraine. This is discussed in the article “Today”.

Military expert Oleg Zhdanov I am sure that there is no logic in Belarus’ attack on Ukraine.

“First, there will be unequal forces in this confrontation. The army of Belarus is 60 thousand fighters. The Armed Forces of Ukraine – 250 thousand people. The advantage is clearly not on the side of the alleged enemy,” he told us in a comment.

Agree with a colleague military expert Sergei Grabsky, who adds that even if countries mobilize civilians for war, the forces will still be disparate.

“The mobilization resource is 10% of the population. Ukraine will be able to draft about 4 million people into the army. Belarus – only 900 thousand. Belarus does not have the resources for an independent invasion. Its army can be considered only as part of the armed forces of Russia,” says Segodnya. Colonel of the reserve.

He is also confident that there will definitely not be a land invasion from Belarus, since Ukraine is well protected in this direction.

“On the Chernigov, Ovruch, Kovel areas, crossings with low throughput, which do not allow the rapid transfer of large groups of troops and are quickly blocked by the Armed Forces. With a 99% probability, a large-scale offensive in these areas can be ruled out,” the expert explained to us.

As we already wrote, on the eve of the People’s Deputy of the Servant of the People faction Yegor Chernev expressed the opinion that Lukashenka might decide to go to war against Ukraine – that Putin is using him for a covert invasion.

Deteriorating relations between Ukraine and Belarus

  • On September 13, after a visit to Russia, Lukashenko announced that he had asked Putin for missiles to be placed on the border with Ukraine. The Belarusian military is expected to receive S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems.
  • On September 15, Belarus announced the shelling of the border mark from the territory of Ukraine. The incident took place in the area of the Pinsk border detachment. Belarusian border guards say that a hunting rifle was fired at the post.
  • On September 18, it became known that Ukraine had deployed missile systems closer to Belarus. The military appealed to the residents of the Chernihiv region with a request not to issue routes for the movement of air defense forces.
  • Recently, the large-scale exercises Zapad-2021, jointly with the Russian Federation, were held at Belarusian training grounds, but after their completion Russia did not withdraw its troops to the places of permanent deployment.

Let us remind you that on September 9 the heads of state of Russia and Belarus held regular talks on deepening the integration of the two countries. We figured out why Putin and Lukashenko need the commonwealth and how it is dangerous for Ukraine.
