Stop three tanks on the A30. Defense, ‘they went to Germany’

(ANSA) – NAPLES, 29 JUN – Three Pzh 2000 tanks were stopped by the Naples Traffic Police at the Mercato San Severino tollbooth of the A30 Salerno-Caserta motorway because the tractors and semi-trailers of the private companies in charge of their transport did not have the circulation and the scheduled periodic review had expired. Furthermore, one of the drivers was not authorized to drive exceptional means of transport. This is what the newspaper Il Mattino reports in today’s edition, adding that the heavy vehicles, coming from the military base in Persano (Salerno), had Ukraine as their final destination.

However, a clarification arrives from the Defense Staff. “The transported vehicles, Pzh2000, were headed to Germany for an exercise. The transport of the vehicles coming from the military base of Persano in Salerno was the responsibility of a private company which, following checks carried out, did not have the correct documentation”.

The fact is that the three tanks were sent back to Persano waiting to be re-transported on vehicles in order with the papers: two other wagons, which passed the controls, continued their journey. (HANDLE).
