(ANSA) – FIASTRA, 29 JUN – Michele Sensini, 47, hiking guide, was found dead in the evening at the bottom of a gully in San Lorenzo al lago, in the territory of Fiastra (Macerata) for over 24 hours. The 47-year-old went for a bike ride yesterday afternoon around 4:30 pm. Not seeing him come back and failing to get in touch with him, his partner raised the alarm: the searches had begun this afternoon, conducted by firefighters, mountain rescue and carabinieri. The area was also flown over by an Air Force helicopter. The searches were concentrated in particular in the Fiastra area, where he was last seen. Sensini, in the past press officer of the Sibillini Mountains Park and currently of the Municipality of Fiastra, was an expert guide and had organized various excursions in the area, which he knew perfectly well. The bike ride had been made for an inspection in view of another excursion that he was preparing. His brother Mario, head of the press office of the post-earthquake reconstruction commissioner Giovanni Legnini, was also on site to participate in the research. (HANDLE).
