(ANSA) – MILAN, 06 JUL – The 42-year-old from New Guinea, Tidiane Amadou Barry, and the 22-year-old Egyptian, Ahmed Shaeban, must remain in prison, arrested in the night between Saturday and Sunday for raping a 42-year-old Brazilian woman years in the gardens of Piazza Napoli, in Milan. This was decided by the Milanese investigating judge Massimo Baraldo, arranging for the two, after the interrogations, pre-trial detention as requested by the Prosecutor’s Office.
The rape, writes the investigating judge in the ordinance, “matured in a context of urban decay” by “people addicted to idleness and the consumption of alcohol” and to “bivouacs” in “public places”.
According to what was reconstructed by the investigations, the woman was dragged into one of the green spaces of the gardens in Piazza Napoli, south west of Milan, and was abused by a group of people (a third man has fled and is still wanted).
Thanks to the report of some passers-by that night the carabinieri of the radio-mobile unit intervened and managed to arrest the two men. The woman was taken to the Polyclinic hospital, where the violence suffered was ascertained. (HANDLE).
