A vast fire it flared up this afternoon in Rome in the area of via Casilina. The dense cloud of smoke is visible throughout the eastern quadrant of the capital including the area of ​​Centocelle, Cinecittà and the Appio district. Firefighters at work.

Many citizens report on social media that they have heard of the “explosions” coming from the vast fire that is affecting the area of ​​the Centocelle park in Rome. It is not excluded, therefore, that the flames are also affecting a car wrecker present in the area. The very high cloud of black smoke is also visible from the center of Rome, including the Circus Maximus. On site, in addition to the firefighters, also carabinieri, police and agents of the Local Police.

Meanwhile, the force of the vast fire that broke out around the countryside between the hamlet of Tottubella and Sassari and locality Nuraghe Bonassai. The flames started just before 1pm in the Sassari area and in the last hours, driven by the strong wind, they covered at least 60 hectares “jumping” the state road 291.

Several companies and homes evacuated, all the area around the highway. The extinguishing operations from the sky take place thanks to two Canadair and two fire fighting helicopters of the Forestry Corps who are shuttling between the fires and the sea mirror in front of Alghero to load water and prevent the worst, that is, that the flames spread inside in the industrial area of ​​the Riviera del Corallo. The deployment of forces also on the ground is impressive: in addition to the foresters, the firefighters, Forestas, and civil protection associations are intervening.

A FIRE ALSO IN MAREMMA

A forest fire also developed in the Terzo area, in the municipality of Roccastrada (Grosseto) in Maremma. The flames that started from the provincial road near a house quickly spread to the land planted with olive trees and vineyards, eventually affecting a Mediterranean scrub forest.
