(ANSA) – TURIN, 04 AUG – “Good morning, policeman, excuse the inconvenience”. Thus began the letter that little Matteo, aged 5, had sent to the Commissariat of Bardonecchia (Turin) to report “an unfortunate fact”: the disappearance of his favorite toy, a small robot with wings. The agents, after a collection, gave him an identical one.
The story dates back to the past few weeks. The child was in the upper Susa Valley on vacation with his parents and had forgotten the ‘robot’ on a deckchair. In the letter, which with the help of his mother he had written in block capitals inside the little drawing of a heart, he asked if “please” the police could “activate the investigation” adding that “I didn’t sleep a wink tonight because I miss mine. toy”. Then he had provided a description as detailed as possible of the object: “the wings open, he speaks but his batteries are flat, and under his foot it says Matteo but now he’s a little discolored”.
In recent days, the little boy returned to Bardonecchia with his parents and, when he passed the police station, he found a gift: an identical robot, accompanied by a handwritten note with the signatures of the policemen inside a heart. “An unexpected surprise – is the post of ‘Agent Lisa’, a friendly page of the State Police on Facebook – which also excited his new friends at the police station in Bardonecchia, and which he certainly will not forget”.
