(ANSA) – ISCHIA, 05 AUGUST – Over 1,400 violations of speed limits in four days: the one recorded by the speed camera system just installed on the coastal road that connects the Ischian municipalities of Lacco Ameno and Casamicciola is probably a record.
The data was released by the municipal police of Lacco Ameno who activated the speed camera on August 1st and after 96 hours downloaded the data from the system providing a detailed report: in the stretch of road where the speed detection system is active (the first stationary installed on the island) over 68,700 vehicles passed in both directions and over 1,400 were those that exceeded the limit of 50 kilometers per hour.
The average speed recorded for offenders is 62 kilometers per hour and offenses are equally divided between cars and motorcycles.
