(ANSA) – BRINDISI, 07 AUG – A thirty-year-old from Gambia was injured in a dispute that – according to the Local Police would have occurred for “futile reasons” even if the investigations continue – with a 27-year-old from Brindisi, who also remained wound. The fight yesterday afternoon began inside a bar and continued outside the club. The non-EU citizen, who has been working in the fields for about a month, was treated at the Perrino hospital in Brindisi where the doctors found a fracture of the nasal septum: he will recover in 30 days. The 27-year-old was also treated in hospital for minor injuries and was reported on the loose for personal injuries. According to local police, the Gambian believes that he was verbally offended, the other that he was accidentally bumped by the migrant in the bar. The dispute took place along via Provinciale San Vito.
The president of the African community of the province of Brindisi, Drissa Kone, while trusting in the investigations of the judiciary and the police, condemns the “brutal aggression of a clear racist nature” and calls everyone to mobilize.
