(ANSA) – VILLA SAN GIOVANNI, 09 AUG – “What I am claiming is simply the truth, which is still missing, about the murder of my father”. This was stated by Rosanna Scopelliti, daughter of Antonino Scopelliti, Deputy Attorney General of the Court of Cassation, during the ceremony at Villa San Giovanni to commemorate the magistrate, on the thirty-first anniversary of his murder.
The ceremony took place at the point where Scopelliti, who was on vacation in Calabria, was killed while driving his car back to Campo Calabro, his country of origin.
When Scopelliti was assassinated he was preparing to represent the public prosecution in the maxi trial in the Supreme Court of Cosa Nostra.
“The delay in ascertaining the truth about my father’s murder – added Rosanna Scopelliti – causes problems of trust in the institutions and credibility of the state.
Especially as regards the relationship of trust that must exist between citizens and the state. We are still waiting for a turning point in the investigations to understand who wanted and why my father’s death. In essence, a total change of method in investigations would be needed “. (ANSA).
