(ANSA) – TRENTO, AUGUST 10 – Dismantled a band of poachers operating between Trentino and Veneto, using clandestine and modified weapons for the shooting down. The operation – it is learned – was coordinated by the Trento Public Prosecutor’s Office and conducted by the Trentino Forestry Corps and the Belluno Forestry Carabinieri. The investigations, which began as part of the ordinary supervision and control of the territory by forestry personnel, led to the arrest of three people, one in Trentino and two in Veneto.
Two other people were reported to the judicial authorities.
Investigators have ascertained several poaching actions targeting mainly ungulates, but also some protected species, including grouse and a golden eagle.
During the searches, clandestine and modified weapons, traps and silencing devices were seized.
