(ANSA) – MILAN, AUGUST 27 – Lightning struck the medieval tower of the Zuccaro, located in the center of Mantua, causing the detachment of some rubble and damaging some downspouts. It happened today shortly after noon when a strong storm broke out over Mantua. A flash of lightning first dazzled the city, immediately followed by a thunder similar to a roar.

Fear among those who were at home and among the few people around, who saw some rubble and fragments of rainwater fall off the roof that covers the top of the tower, fallen on the pavement below. Nobody was hurt. The firefighters immediately cordoned off the area and then climbed the tower to check the damage. The local police with a drone flew over the area to quickly check the extent of the damage.
