(ANSA) – MILAN, AUGUST 28 – A motorboat collided this afternoon, around 6.30 pm, with a rubber dinghy on which there were five people. The accident occurred on Lake Maggiore, near the Municipality of Ranco (Varese). Seven people were injured, none seriously. The worst was feared because the five people, including two children, ended up in the water. A 14-year-old was transported by helicopter to the San Gerardo hospital in Monza for hand injuries caused by the propeller of one of the two boats. Three children were instead transferred in yellow code to the Filippo Del Ponte hospital in Varese. The people were recovered in the water by the CP 701 patrol boat of the Coast Guard of Lesa (Novara).
The carabinieri and the Coast Guard of Lesa (Novara) investigate the dynamics of the accident. The two boats were made available to the judicial authority. The two drivers tested negative for alcohol. (HANDLE).
